"The only thing not digital in the cyberwar is the blood."- Taylor Swift
Today we are going to be talking about ProtonMail.
ProtonMail is a free email app that encrypts your emails to protect your privacy. ProtonMail secures your message through end-to-end encryptions so nobody but you and your recipient can see the message. ProtonMail also requires no personal information to create an account, so all you need to do is pick an email address and you are on your way.
However, the best parts about ProtonMail is that its servers are located in Switzerland and it is open source. Since their servers are in Switzerland that means your data is protected by Swiss privacy laws, which are the strongest in the world. No one will ever be able to see your messages or what you send when you use this service. In addition, it is also open source, so you know exactly what the program does and you know for a fact it is secure and works.
With the passing of the CRA Resolution by Congress two weeks ago, everyone in the United States lost a lot of their online privacy rights, if not all of them. ProtonMail is another great way to take that privacy back by easily securing all of your email messages.
As always, thank you for joining us today! Please be sure to come back Friday at 6:00pm EST for another practical strategy to take back your privacy.
App of the Week:Dashlane (Free or Paid) Dashlane's password manager app is a great way to secure all of your passwords and payment methods behind one master password. Dashlane offers free and paid versions with their app, so there is no excuse not to use a password manager!
